About the Artist
Thank you for taking the time to visit my online art gallery! Originally from Washington, North Carolina, I now live in Portland, Oregon. I’ve been painting for over ten years, and began selling my original, hand-painted art online in 2007.
My painting style is abstract, and I use vibrant, contrasting color and diverse methods of blending professional-grade acrylic paint. Each painting is original, authentic and personally signed, and after creation, I add a clear, gloss, UV resistant acrylic coating to protect the quality of the painting, and to safeguard your investment.
I truly love painting and I see beauty, color and magic everywhere, often in unanticipated places - from the surface of a body of water to the rustic, industrial warehouse floor of a manufacturing facility. I’m also greatly inspired by the recurring shapes, colors and patterns found in nature.
Color is not something that I am afraid of, and I love to use unexpected combinations of vibrant, contrasting color in my art. This includes neutral tones, which I enjoy blending and layering for an exciting, dramatic effect. I like to experiment with various styles and painting methods as well.
Another factor that I take into consideration when creating art is light. It has such a profound visual effect on everything, and I try to infuse light into every painting, and to consider how different types of lighting will affect the painting.
